IN SEARCH OF...A MEDSTAR NURSING WHISTLEBLOWER

Who wants to change the diaper of a 60 year old chronic stroke survivor? Feces (stool) are the solid or semi-solid waste remains of food not digested in the small intestine, primarily composed of water (75%), bacteria, undigested fiber, fat, and cells. Typically brown due to bile, feces are eliminated from the body through the rectum and anus during defecation. I have lain in my urine and feces at MedStar for hours. I have lain in my feces and urine at Cherrydale for hours. I have lain in my urine and feces for hours at home under 24 hour nursing care.  I understand how the boxer, Roberto Duran, felt in the ring against "Sugar" Ray Leonard. The infamous "No Más" phrase was uttered by boxer Roberto Durán on November 25, 1980, during his WBC welterweight title rematch against "Sugar" Ray Leonard in New Orleans. Durán turned his back on Leonard in the 8th round, waving his gloves and telling the referee "No más" (No more). I just want everyone to know that I have been to the mountaintop after five strokes, being sexually assaulted, and abused, without legal respite, in various hospital facilities. "I've been to the mountaintop" is a famous phrase from Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s final speech on April 3, 1968, signifying a personal vision of a future, just society (the "Promised Land") and an acceptance of his impending death. It metaphorically represents seeing the triumph of the Civil Rights Movement despite knowing he might not live to witness it personally. At last, I'm just a job to nursing staff. A chronic, bed-ridden stroke patient to family and friends. Not a man t    `ahat happens to be sick. But a patient that happens to be a man. Not a person but a thing.

Lawyers ask if I attended every annual physical exam. We know you have been assaulted but you don't have any evidence so we are left with a hearsay case against a major corporate entity. They can afford the court of law and you can't. We pride ourselves on getting settlements not going to trial for those big winnings. You may deserve justice but you can't afford it.  Medical malpractice lawyers in Washington, DC, typically work on a contingency fee basis, charging 25% to 40% of the final settlement or court award. You pay no upfront fees; the lawyer is only paid if they win your case. In addition to their fee, you may be responsible for reimbursing costs like expert witness fees, which can average over $400-$600/hour. Medical malpractice lawyers frequently pursue settlements over trials to secure guaranteed, faster compensation for clients while avoiding the high costs ($20,000–$100,000+ in expenses) and unpredictable risks of jury verdicts. Trials are lengthy, stressful, and public, whereas settlements provide faster payouts, confidentiality, and control over the outcome. Yes, medical malpractice lawyers generally prefer to settle cases rather than go to trial, as over 90% to 95% of medical malpractice claims are resolved before reaching a courtroom. While attorneys must be prepared to litigate, settlements are preferred because they provide faster, more predictable compensation for victims, avoid the high costs and risks of a trial, and offer confidentiality. Medical malpractice lawyers generally prefer reported claims (incidents documented in official medical records and/or reported to insurance/authorities) over unreported cases (those relying solely on a patient's memory or undocumented claims) for several critical legal and practical reasons. They don't understand my struggle to report these matters and don't care! They are "Settlement mills". "Settlement mills" are law firms that handle a massive volume of personal injury cases, operating more like a production line to maximize profit through high-volume, quick settlements rather than individual client attention. These firms, often fueled by heavy, aggressive advertising ("call right now" ads), frequently settle cases for less than their full value, relying on high turnover to generate revenue.

I waiked into MedStar suffering a mild stroke. A mild stroke, often referred to as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA) or "mini-stroke," occurs when blood flow to a part of the brain is temporarily blocked, causing symptoms like sudden numbness, slurred speech, or vision loss that may last only a few minutes to 24 hours. While symptoms may pass, it is a critical warning sign of a potential major stroke, often requiring immediate medical care, lifestyle changes, and medication to prevent future events. I waited nearly 24 hours to be assigned an inpatient room, receiving medical care until then, in the hallway. I WAS ASSAULTED BY A NURSE AND TWO TECHNICIANS DURING A BATHROOM REQUEST. The attack turned a mild stroke into a major stroke. One that left me debilitated and paralyzed. Yes, an assault or traumatic brain injury (TBI) can turn a mild stroke or transient ischemic attack (TIA) into a major, disabling stroke. Physical trauma to the head or neck during an assault can disrupt blood vessels, cause blood clots, or induce a stroke within months of the injury. An assault—particularly one involving physical trauma to the head or neck—can cause a stroke. Traumatic brain injury (TBI) from violence can lead to artery damage, blood vessel tears (carotid/vertebral dissection), and clotting, with studies indicating a significant increase in stroke risk within the first few months. This was confirmed in a meeting in my room the following day by Dr. Claudia Brown and the Nursing Supervisor. I was kicked out of MedStar the following Saturday because I REFUSED the diagnosis that I was insulin dependent and in need of Metformin, a Black-label FDA drug. Metformin carries an FDA "black box" warning for lactic acidosis, a rare but potentially fatal metabolic complication where lactic acid builds up in the blood. While rare, this serious side effect requires immediate medical attention, with a 50% fatality rate if not treated. It is primarily linked to renal impairment. My father died from a kidney impairment. I was kicked out but now my medical records say that I WALKED OUT. I walked into MedStar and was wheeled to my car by an atteding nurse because I could only hop on one good leg.

Lawyers, family and friends want to focus on the stroke. I want to focus on the assault. I wrote an earlier essay on my struggle to report my patient abuse to the DC Department of the Metropolitan Police Force. After a formal complaint to the Office of Police Complaints (OPC) against former DC Police Chief Pamela Smith and current DC Police Chief Jeffrey Carroll and the DC Police Department about ignoring my email requests to report my assault. After submitting my complaint and essays, Lieutenant Hakeem Ayodeji assembled a police officer to come to my home and record my complaint and testimony. I was advised by the Lieutenant that because the time is so great between the incident and reporting that DC Police will not investigate the matter. An offending nurse and two technicians are still-at-large, putting the public at risk. You or your family member are being cared for by them. Police can and often do investigate crimes reported two years later, provided the statute of limitations for that specific crime has not expired. While immediate reporting is ideal, investigations for serious crimes (felonies) often have time limits of five years or more, allowing for delayed reports.

Key Considerations for Delayed Reporting:

  • Statute of Limitations: This is the primary factor. Misdemeanors often have a 1-2 year limit, while felonies may have 5+ years. Some serious crimes, such as murder, may have no time limit.
  • Nature of the Crime: Severe crimes like sexual assault, murder, or kidnapping are more likely to be investigated regardless of the delay.
  • Evidence Availability: A two-year delay makes gathering evidence more difficult (e.g., lost surveillance footage, faded witness memory), which may affect the decision to pursue the case.
  • Investigation Process: Even if the report is old, it can still be investigated, or it might be used as intelligence to build a larger case.

If you are reporting a crime, it is best to provide as much detail as possible to assist with the investigation.

Cover-up penalties for doctors, nurses, and medical personnel are severe, often involving federal imprisonment, significant civil fines, exclusion from federal healthcare programs, and revocation of professional licensure. These penalties apply to actions like hiding patient abuse, falsifying records, or concealing fraudulent billing.

MedStar, Cherrydale and DC Police have built a great divide between my wife and I. Family and friends have been placed at an uncomfortable position, either by choice or force. seeking not to get involved. "You had a stroke, you are supposed to be dead. Why can't you be grateful that you are alive. Maybe paralyzed and debilitated but alive"? Hence, you must become a walking mat to injustice to show gratitude. I don't need my decline to be orderly managed. I need my recovery and incline fully supported. I am alive and viable in mind not dead. My injustice is your injustice. How I am treated, you will be treated. If we don't punish the seed of evil today, it will become your fruit tomorrow. My family and friends are not the army. The police and medical science are not my army. God and I are the army. You can join me in this eternal war for justice at the Hand of God. My blood, sweat and tears. His Justice!

There is but one hope that I have come upon. Stem cell therapy for chronic stroke is a promising but largely experimental treatment option that has shown encouraging results in small clinical trials, particularly in improving motor function, spasticity, and aphasia. While considered safe in early-phase trials, definitive evidence of efficacy is still being gathered, and the treatment is not yet a standard, approved therapy. Established in 2012 and spearheaded by Dr. David Greene, MD, PhD, MBA, R3 Stem Cell is delivering effective and safe regenerative therapies in the US & internationally. The company offers products and services internationally to both patients and providers. It has clinics that provide regenerative therapies, along with training workshops that teach providers about regenerative biologics and therapies. In addition, R3 now has sister companies offering products for distribution, practice marketing, and clinical trial research studies around the world. They provide treatment for patients who are diagnosed with chronic stroke. We're sorry, we don't accept any insurance or neither covered by any insurance company. Dr. Greene has offered me the opportunity to completely heal from my chronic stroke through stem cell therapy. Fortunately, R3 does provide treatment for patients who are diagnosed with chronic stroke. However, unfortunately, they don't accept any insurance or are not covered by any insurance company. Hence, I MUST RAISE $15,000 TO COVER THE COSTS. Yes, stem cell therapy has shown potential in enabling stroke survivors with severe, chronic mobility issues to get up, walk again, and regain motor function. Clinical trials have demonstrated that injecting modified stem cells can improve motor skills, enhance independence, and, in some cases, restore the ability to walk among patients who were previously wheelchair-bound. The stems could repair my hypothalamus, so I can finally tell you if I am hungry or thirsty after 2-1/2 yeaes. This should be the compensation of MedStar and Cherrydale. But they are not willing. They require for you to dress as a beggar and demand it in court. Diaper-freedom is stem cell therapy. DC Medicaid covers long-term care for bedridden chronic stroke survivors, with costs for nursing home care in the District of Columbia averaging between $11,952 and $15,664 per month (approximately $143,000 to $188,000 annually) for semi-private and private rooms. For a bedridden patient requiring 24/7 care, Medicaid is generally the primary payer, covering room, board, and skilled nursing services.  If the patient is not in a nursing home, DC Medicaid may cover in-home care services through waivers, though 24/7 care at home can still cost roughly $3,000 to $7,000+ per month in out-of-pocket equivalent, depending on hours. For a stroke survivor with severe disabilities, the lifetime cost of care can be substantial, with Medicaid covering the vast majority of these expenses once the patient meets the income and asset eligibility requirements. Imagine how much DC would save if I got well? $15,000 vs. $200,000? You don't have to hav a TBI to figure this out.

MedStar Washington has faced documented issues regarding patient rights and alleged abuse, including Department of Justice (DOJ) complaints about denying support persons to vulnerable patients (like those with dementia or autism) and lawsuits over unnecessary cardiac procedures and employee sexual abuse. While MedStar affirms a commitment to patient safety and freedom from abuse, reports indicate instances of inadequate oversight, potential underreporting of incidents, and challenges with accommodations for disabled patients, leading to settlements and ongoing scrutiny.

Cherrydale Health & Rehabilitation Center in Arlington, VA, has a documented history of violations and has faced significant fines, including recent "immediate jeopardy" findings related to patient health and safety concerns. Public records and reviews mention instances of deficient practices, neglect, and patient rights issues.

Cherrydale Health and Rehabilitation Center is part of the larger MedStar Health system, serving as one of their rehabilitation facilities, connecting short-term rehab to broader MedStar services, including their flagship MedStar National Rehabilitation Hospital (NRH) and various outpatient sites for comprehensive post-acute care, integrating local facilities like Cherrydale within MedStar's extensive regional network.

Lawyers want perfect cases. No investigation needed. Since, I can't count on the DC Police or DC Government, justice seems beyond reach. Dignity is a lost treasure. Dignity is the inherent, absolute worth and value every human being possesses, regardless of status, race, or ability. It implies that individuals deserve to be treated with respect, honor, and ethically, forming the basis of human rights. It is an internal state of being worthy rather than earned respect. Christ made me worthy! The walls of questions envelope me. Why did you ask to go to the bathroom? Why did you ask and not just use the utensil given? They said you fought them. Don't you think that they would pass off patient abuse as workplace violence is my response. You should have just followed orders. Maybe you deserve this for all the years you were The Exceotional One. You deserved to be assaulted. Just be grateful that you have medical care. Gratitude is the conscious appreciation of meaningful, positive aspects of life, fostering improved mental health, lower stress, and stronger relationships. Common practices include journaling, verbal thanks, and mindful reflection. It acts as a mental tool to boost dopamine and oxytocin, increasing overall well-being. Dignity in the Bible is fundamentally rooted in the Imago Dei (Image of God), establishing that all humans possess inherent worth, honor, and sanctity because they are created by God (Genesis 1:26-27). This divine value extends to all people, regardless of status, and dictates that individuals should be treated with respect, love, and care. I am now turned off to Church folk. You lack both knowledge and practice. Dignity? What can you give? Who sits next to me and listens to me? There are no friends or family. Who weeps and laughs with me? There is a nurse but I am the job to them. The reason they can get their weave or travel to Nigeria.

Lawyers want perfect cases. MedStar annd Cherrydale and their doctors and nurses aren't coming forward of their own accord. Hence, I need WHISTLEBLOWERS! Whistleblowers play a critical role in uncovering medical negligence and fraud within healthcare systems. Their disclosures often lead to significant financial recoveries and bring accountability to healthcare providers. Whistleblowers in medical negligence cases not only protect the integrity of healthcare systems but also contribute to restoring funds lost due to fraud. Their courage in facing potential retaliation underscores their essential role in fostering accountability and transparency in the medical community. You will experience retaliation. However, you know that medical practioners like the nurse and two technicians are costing substandard medical care and public trust. I must depend on the kindness of strangers while family have failed me. I THANK GOD that HE has kept me in my right mind throughout all of this.
