TEACH MY GRANDSON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF BEING A GENIUS

Recently, you told your mother that you were a "genius".  You are merely a 4 year old toddler. You have unwittingly come upon your gift. It is neither a good or bad thing except in how it is used. Grandfather is pleased. You come from a long line of geniuses. Your great, great grandfathers were geniuses. One built a three hundred acre farm in the midst of the Jim Crow, Democrat segregated South. The other was a captain pullman porter who built the first National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (NAACP) branch in Eastern Mississippi. Your great grandfather was a genius. He was a tremendous carpenter who was brilliant in Math and political science. Your grand father was a genius, who studied economics and psychology and created TECNTV.com, a talk network that focused on Christianity, Conservatism, Constitutionalism, Capitalism, Rule of Law, and Individual Sovereignty. Your mother is a genius. An Honors graduate in English and Education from Claflin University. You are a genius. By accident, as a toddler, you have made a discovery equal to Socrates, Plato and Aristotle. It is a gift that makes you the most dangerous and powerful man in the world! Be warned, in the Black community, it makes you an unenviable target. Just your presence intimadates and places fear in the minds of men. You are disliked because you are the one most unlikely to be fooled or manipulated. Those that target you do so because it gives them a satisfaction for their envy and an honor amongst the community. Your gift is the most precious joy and painful peril. 

What does the world call a genius? The etymology for a genius is from the Latin genius, meaning "inborn nature, innate character, or a guiding spirit". Ultimately, it traces back to the Proto-Indo-European root *ǵenh₁-, which means "to beget, give birth, or produce".  The Romans believed every person, family, and place had a guardian spirit born with them that determined their personality, abilities, and inborn nature. If you had an outstanding talent, it was the result of your personal genius. Exceptional achievements were thought to be the work of this innate guiding spirit, the word's meaning broadened from the spirit to the talent itself, leading to the modern definition of outstanding intellectual ability. The words Generate and Gene are etymological siblings to genius, sharing the same PIE root *ǵenh₁- (e.g., genus and progenitor also belong to this family. Though they look and sound alike, the "genie" of Arabian Nights (the Arabic jinni) is an entirely separate word. French and English translators simply adapted the spelling of the Arabic word to match the Latin genius because of the phonetic similarity. Genius is a noun which means "tutelary or moral spirit" who guides and governs an individual through life, from Latin genius "guardian deity or spirit which watches over each person from birth; spirit, incarnation; wit, talent;" also "prophetic skill. I prefer to say that "God is with me" and I can not deny this! I will prophetically tell you something that angers many believe is arrogance but is truly humbling in contemplation: You were born to produce greatness and noone no matter how hard they try can take that from you! You are a Genius and the Spirit of the Lord is with you. You will always put people off and they will look askew at you because of how confident you are in knowing that you were born to produce greatness. Either person, place or thing, you were born to make greatness. As well, God won't finish with you until you complete His mission. No matter the blood, sweat or tears involved. You have and will have "exalted natural mental ability, skill in the synthesis of knowledge derived from perception". Fear not!

To have the Spirit of the Lord upon you means to be divinely anointed, empowered, and guided by the Holy Spirit to accomplish God's purposes. It represents a supernatural surge of strength, wisdom, and boldness to serve, speak, or lead in a way that goes beyond human capability. It is why the LORD led me to name you "Ezekiel". The name Ezekiel is of Hebrew origin and translates to "God will strengthen" or "God's strength". It is derived from the ancient Hebrew name Yechezqel, which combines the words for "to be strong" (chazaq) and "God" (el). Your mother named you "Jahleel Khari". Jahleel Khari is a combination of two names with deep spiritual and cultural roots. Together, they signify "hoping and waiting upon God" (Jahleel) combined with "kingly, queenly, or born to rule" (Khari). Your mother and I knew that the Spirit of the Lord was upon you in her womb for the Spirit of the Lord was upon us in our mothers' wombs. You are not a mistake. You were meant to be!

Know that you have God's Wisdom thrust upon you. Throughout the Old Testament, the phrase often described a "rush" of power enabling individuals to lead or protect their communities. 

1. Judges like Samson, for example, were said to have the Spirit of the Lord rush upon them to perform feats of extraordinary strength and deliver Israel from oppression.

2. It signifies that God has specifically chosen and equipped you for a task

In Isaiah 61, the prophet declares, "The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me, because the LORD has anointed me to bring good news to the afflicted." 

1. This imagery centers on being set apart to heal the brokenhearted, comfort those who mourn, and bring spiritual liberty.

2. In the New Testament, Jesus reads this exact passage at the synagogue in Nazareth, identifying it as His core mission and anointing. 

In the writings of the prophet Isaiah (Isaiah 11:2), the Spirit resting upon someone is described as the Spirit of wisdom, understanding, counsel, might, and the knowledge of the Lord. Having the Spirit upon you means your character and decision-making are being shaped by God’s presence.

For believers, having the Spirit "come upon you" brings boldness and liberty. It means you are empowered to act as a witness for Christ and to live a life that reflects the "fruit of the Spirit"—such as love, joy, patience, kindness and peace—while being set free from the bondage of sin.

Let nothing corrupt your Spirit-man or beast.

It is a gift that many attempt to equal with college degrees, muscle development and beauty contests. Genius is precious because throughout life, without tyrannical pursuits such as alcohol and drugs, you can enhance your mastery. Even after five severe strokes your grandfather made his mastery of current events, history, and other intellectual pursuits. Your mastery examples your commitment to individual sovereignty. There are many genuises in many areas of life-arts and sciences. If your focus isn't on character development, you shall waste your gifting. As you are very handsome, without discipline and restraint, you can develop a charisma that draws evil and invites idolatry, a sense that you are greater than God or no longer need the Creator. Your gift-natural intellectual curiousity-comes from God. He gives it with an expectation that you guard it and grow it. That you master it and not allow you and others to be mastered by it. There are those that covet your gift seeking either to draw you closer to the Creator or to draw you farther from your Creator. God expects you to use His GIFT to expand His Kingdom on Earth, not build your Heavenly Kingdom on Earth.

Many will be attracted to you. You must discern if they seek your betterment or only their own. You are doubly challenged because you are also very handsome. Both genders will attempt to entice you to make you a slave of their fear, doubt and jealousy of God. they seek to rule rather than be ruled. Those that resist you will say that your learning is restricted to a classroom. Those that appreciate you will advise that the entire universe is your classroom and promote self-discovery. Your gift requires you to always be proactive, ever-learning, not defeated by failure. Your gift flounders in reactivity, where you disdain learning and only find joy in success. Remember, others are raised to be reactive, living only in protest of the Living God. While those raised to be proactive, live only in advancing in Truth. Be warned, you are engineered by God to resist the mob and not go along to get along. You are to stand firmly in Christianity, Conservatism, Capitalism, Rule of Law and Individual Sovereignty. To align yourself otherwise, is to diminish and repudiate your giftimg.

You have been marked as Cain in the labeled Black community in Urban America. They will seek to eliminate you or recruit you to the mob. The Mob seeks to steal, kill, destroy and to do injustice. The Mob seeks to blamphemously take away your God-given natural rights. The Mob seeks to separate you from the love of God and to convince you to succumb to its mandated worship of it and its institution. The Mob is adverse to Law and Order and prideful of chaos and convenience. Finding a "help-mate" in the Black community is difficult. Your "help-mate" is to certainly aide you in building your Genius, not tearing it down. The Black community, over time, by force and choice, has succumbed to the Mob. The Mob's daughters have been trained, by course or observation, to fashion you as a "crazed, extremist" to the Mob and harmful to society or like Delilah feed you to the Mob by betrayal and subterfuge. Your grandfather was blessed in finding a rare commodity in your grandmother who tolerated my commitment to Christianity, Conservatism, Capitalism, Rule of Law and Individual Sovereignty. My find was as a Pearl in the Field. My advise is that you do not exhaust your youth in a fruitless search in Urban America. Demand the World as your oyster. Let your eyes be blinded from color and opened to character. Do not marry the Mob and expect Liberty and Freedom. Your mother will stand in defense of you while you are a boy but when you are a man, you must stand alone with God.

Genius. Who called you Genius? It matters the context-either to feel pride or to be warned. The difference is in the pursuits of the Servants of God and the pursuits of the Mob. The Servants of God believe in growing the People of God to rightly influence the institutions of Man. The Mob seeks its own worship. The Servants of God want to be surrounded by a multithde of Geniuses. The Mob seeks to eliminate you or manipulate you. The Servants of God promote using your gift to worship God the Creator. The Mob seeks that you promote your gift beyond God but subject to Man. The Servants of God seek the proper worship of God not confined to Man's institutions. The Servants of God seek your freedom of mind. The Mob seeks to enslave your mind. The Servants of God welcome you and your gift. The Mob denies you and your gift. The Mob finds your gift contemptable. The Mob calls genius being smart. The Mob uses the term "being smart" as a measure of your insatiable pride in comparison to others. The Mob says, "You think you are smarter than me or us?" An offense! "You think that you are better than us?!" This is a call and response attempt to intimidate you, to put fear in you, and to make you ashamed of your God-given gift. Their hope is your newly discovered fear, shame, doubt and guilt will result in you no longer using your gift for yourself or others. If God gave you the ability of natural, intellectual curiousity then you have the natural ability to discern a thing. Be always thinking and discerning. Know the Seasons. Have many associates and few friends.

Grandfather wants to clue you into some terms that describe your genius.  Wisdom pursue as oxygen for it comes from God. Knowledge is merely understanding a subject matter. Intelligence is the measure of knowledge that you possess in comparison to others. Smart is an ackowledgement of your gift by others. Understanding is the full measure of your percception of states, conditions, situations and circumstances. It profoundly awes as you fully use God's strength and the limits of Man's knowledge to solve human problems. Reason is what you use to discuss your knowledge with others. You can't reason with everyone, so don't try to convince by force.  To some, it is better to be righteous than right. Discern a thing. Rational is one's allegiance and dependence on fact. Irrational is one's allegiance and depence on bias and fear. Genius is an amalgammation of all these and the ability to discern when to use each for good or evil, for self and others.

A man stood outside a pizza restaurant with a sign that said, "My wisdom for a slice." He stood for hours without a donation. He went to the trunk of his car and retrieved a different sign, "My foolishness for a slice". After fifteen minutes, a woman accompanied by her three children offered him an entire pizza pie. People would prefer to be entertained than educated by a genius. Speaking of Aladdin, ask your mother about the comic genius, Robin Williams. That will bring back some memories. Many find gifted geniuses intolerable because of the gifting or the Giver of the gift. Geniuses are often unappreciated because it is more convenient to complain of problems than to celebrate problem solvers. Better the complaints of the many than the innovations of the few. Many geniuses are told that they are arrogant and need to humble themselves. Sure Vasco de Gama, you circumnavigated the globe but you need to humble yourself. The man who circumnavigates his bathtub with a toy boat and says he circumnavigated his world is arrogant. If de Gama told you he circumnavigated the world, he is humble. Dutifullly serve your genius but know that you are quicker to receive the ire of men than the celebration of mankind. Know that if your truth and gifting can stand in the courts of God then you have received your place before mankind. No amount of degrees of men can stand against the fires of genius. Get degrees because they are the best that men can offer. But know that God's Wisdom originated in no Ivory Tower. Display your genius no matter what because it is the best that God can offer. Speak softly and carry your genius to the world. You are the Voice of God and the world is your audience. Let God say, "Well done, my good and faithful servant". Mankind can offer no greater reward.

Remember, the Man that controls his gift masters his life, no regrets. Control your gift. Make God and your heritage blessed among men. You are a genius. I am thankful to our Creator! Let no Man or Woman take that away from you. Remember, to some, you are the most dangerous man that they know. Now, I can close my eyes for eternity and know that my genius is fulfilled in you. "Well done my good and faithful servant."
